When most people hear knocking on their door, they expect a hurried delivery driver, but not for Allison Pearson, who opened hers to two policemen standing before her. Due to a one-year old deleted tweet, the astonished journalist was being accused of a non-hate crime incident. This was all unfolding on Remembrance Sunday, where Allison had been getting ready to commemorate the sacrifices of the soldiers who fought for Britain. Most certainly, they wouldn’t have had time to scrutinise social media posts in their squalid trenches.
