Convicted for Burning a Quran

After fleeing torture in Turkey, Hamit Coskun has now been convicted in Britain for burning a Quran during a public protest, with the court finding him guilty of demonstrating “religious hostility.” Meanwhile, the two men who physically assaulted him during the incident – one wielding a knife, and the other seen kicking him while he was on the ground – received comparatively lenient treatment. In today’s Britain, it seems the greater crime is to offend, not to attack.
